God, knowing the troubled and addicted state in which would find ourselves in the last days has left us with an amazing 12-step spiritual process that combines the ancient practices of the east with the ancient instruction found in the ancient sacred text of the west- The Holy Bible.
This is not a 12-step program, where the energy that drives the addiction is transferred through a mind-body discipline. Here the substance of the abuse (e.g. alcohol, drugs, etc) is removed, giving the mind and body time to heal. While this is a good thing, we must move beyond controlling the addiction through the power of our mind and the discipline of our body if we want to come out of recovery, a form of bondage, our mind now a slave to the fear of "relapse," our body now subject to the law of absinence.Through this approach the energy that once drove the addiction is now being used to control it. Using the addiction's control to control the addiction does not work. "How can Satan cast out Satan? To cast out the negative and destructive energy once and for all will require a different approach, one that leads to freedom. Here we are able to enjoy the pleasures of this life once again, but without addiction. This is made possible through a total transformation; by climbing all 12 rungs of Jacob's Ladder, completing the spiritual ascension process.
Transformation ends the addiction because it gets to the root of the physical addiction, which is in the heart. Through God's 12 steps the spiritual energy of the heart is transformed, which in turn transforms the mind, changing the chemical composition of the mind and the body. When this transformation is complete, the enegy responsible for the "out-of-control" cravings disappears for good, setting us free. Through this process we take on the fruits of the the Spirit, represented by the sons of Jacob, one of which is " temperance."
THE LITTLE BOOK FOR THE SOUL details the process by which the lower energy that drives the addiction is transformed through the higher power that resides within the heart. There are three phases in this amazing process, correlating with the three aspects of the soul: mind, heart, and body. It is the second phase that makes this 12-step process so unique.
The word "relapse" means "to fall back or revert to a former state." This is a common occurrence because this former higher state has not been reached. "Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us to Christ..." Galatians 3:24. The law of self-will or control (the restraint of abstinence) teaches us a method of survival until we come to christ; until we receive healing through the higher power that completes the transformation process.
THE LITTLE BOOK FOR THE SOUL details this christ healing process, which brings us back to our former higher state. These 12 transformative steps lead us out of spiritual and physcial bondage or addiciton. It is God's 12-step plan for the salvation of the soul; for the freeing of the soul!
